Memco is renowned as a global provider of elevator safety and communication systems and celebrated 40 years of business in 2011. This marked the milestone too of over 1.5million elevator safety edges installed across the globe.

Established in 1971, Memco has its world Headquarters in Maidenhead, UK.  Rapidly increasing product demand has led to bulk production in a purpose-built factory of 4000sqm in the Czech Republic town of Ceske Budejovice. 

Memco Limited is BS EN 9001-2000 certified and is constantly focused on quality; this is reflected in the success of the extensive range of detectors.  The significant investment in Research and Development ensures that Memco Limited uses cutting edge technology to stay ahead of the competition. The introduction of the unique Panachrome coloured safety edge is proof of the commitment to delivering new products.

The success of Memco's elevator emergency communication system - the Memcom - has been swift and significant since its launch in 2009 and now includes a full range of accessories.

Additional sales offices in Italy, Spain, France and Germany; coupled with a network of distributors across the globe ensure that Memco retains its global dominance.

Memco sits with sister companies Janus, TL Jones and E-Motive within the Elevator Safety Division of Halma plc, a FTSE 250 company with an annual turnover of £519 million.  In addition to a wide range of safety edges, accessories and elevator emergency communication systems, Memco also supplies elevator displays across Europe, Africa and South America.  Sister companies TL Jones and Janus ensure that the same extensive product ranges are on offer across Asia and North America respectively.
