Memco policy - Warranty and Returns

 

Memco Limited is committed to providing the highest quality in products and services. In the unlikely event of malfunction or faulty operation arising during the warranty period, Memco provides a warranty repair or replacement policy and procedure. To establish if our product is not functioning correctly the Customer is required to contact Memco Service or Sales Department to help determine if the product is defective and qualifies for warranty cover under Memco’s policy.

Memco products are guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for a specific period from the date of shipment, and this period varies by product. In most cases, the warranty period is 2 years. During the warranty period, Memco will, at its discretion, repair or replace products that prove to be defective. Repairs are guaranteed for the remainder of the original warranty or 6 months extended warranty, whichever is longer.

All warranty repair or replacement actions are contingent on verification of the faulty or malfunctioning product, and on delivery of the product to Memco. Any damage caused by external causes, including problems with electrical power, negligent installation or operation, failure to follow documented procedures, abuse, or general misuse of the product is not covered by the warranty.

This warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, to tampering or alterations resulting in cracked or broken components, or to products damaged by excessive heat, cold or moisture, or products damaged through general misuse. Additionally, the product must have been installed in accordance with Memco installation instructions provided with the product and available from the website www.memco.co.uk.

Memco’s sole and exclusive liabilities for faulty or malfunctioning products through defects in materials and workmanship shall be limited to repair or replacement of the product at our repair facility and Memco shall not be liable for incidental, contingent or consequential damages. This warranty does not obligate Memco to bear any of the costs of transportation charges in connection with repair or replacement of the product, or any defective parts of the product.

 

Warranty Procedure

If after having determined that a product may qualify for warranty repair or replacement, the Customer will need to follow the Returns Procedure as set out below. Upon receipt of the product, warranty verification will include visual inspection and testing for normal wear and tear, alteration, and functional compliance of the product. Faulty or malfunctioning products will be repaired or replaced.

If the Customer wishes to receive replacement prior to return the product to Memco, the Customer will need to purchase a new product and Memco will raise a credit against the purchase order once the returned product is verified under warranty.

Customers will not be charged for warranty repairs. However, if a returned product does not meet warranty verification then testing, repair, and/or shipping fees apply.

 

Returns Procedure

If the Customer believes that their faulty or malfunctioning product complies with the Warranty Policy and that the Customer wish to return a product for warranty repair or replacement, then the Customer will need to obtain a ‘Return Material Authorization’ (RMA) number.

All products shipped to Memco must be with an RMA number (see below) showing on the outside of the shipping case or packaging and should be addressed to:

Memco reserves the right to refuse any incoming shipment not marked with a RMA number on the outside of the packaging or shipping case.

An RMA number can be obtained as below:

Please call Memco +44(0) 1628 540100 or +44(0) 1628 540160 with the following information:

1. Model number of Memco product

2. Brief description of the fault

3. Relevant purchase order number

4. Serial number (if available)

Each RMA is valid for 14 days. Products must be shipped back to Memco before each RMA expires. Otherwise a new RMA number will be required.

Provided the products to be returned comply with the claim for warranty cover as set out above, Memco agrees to carry out repairs or replacement as required and will bear the outward shipping cost. The Customer is responsible for shipping the product to Memco in the original packaging or a shipping case of equal protection and support.

 

Please read the following important information regarding returns procedures:

  1. An RMA number can be issued for multiple products.
  2. RMA number must match the product(s) authorised for return.
  3. Customer will prepay all shipping and handling charges when sending product(s) back to Memco.
  4. Memco will cover shipping and handling charges when sending replacement or repaired product(s) to the Customer for warranty repair.
  5. RMA replacements or repaired products are held for 1 month. After that all unclaimed products become the property of Memco.
  6. Memcoreserve the right to reject any product for repair if it is beyond economical repair.
  7. Memco policy is not to accept stock cleansed, unwanted or unused products back for credit.  Memco may accept products if they are newly purchased and unopened, and 10% restocking charge will be applied. 

 

Non Warranty Repair

If the returned product does not meet warranty verification then testing, repair, and/or shipping fees apply.

The Customer may return a product for repair that is not covered by warranty. A standard repair fee applies. Repairs performed on products out of warranty also carry a 6 months warranty. The customer must pay either the amount as per the pro-forma invoice or place an order with Memco to cover the cost of repair and return shipping cost.

 

Repair Terms and Conditions

By sending the product to us for repair the Customer is confirming they have read, understood and agrees to these terms and conditions.

If the returned product does not meet warranty verification or the Customer returned a product not covered by warranty, Memco will provide the Customer with an estimate for repair. If the Customer decides not to accept this estimate then Memco reserves the right to choose either (A) return the product without undertaking any repair services to the Customer or (B) to scrap the product without further notice to the Customer.

The Customer is agreeing to pay for any work Memco have carried out on their behalf, whether the Customer have instructed Memco verbally, by phone, by fax, by email, in writing or via a third party. Memco will not charge the Customer without their agreement. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that charges are paid for. Memco will not release repairs until payment or order has been received. Memco reserve the right to dispose of products after 21 days where payment has not been made or order has not been received.

In case, the Customer decides not to go ahead with the repair once Memco have estimated the cost or Memco are unable to repair it, or the Customer fails to pay or send an order to Memco within 21 days, Memco reserves the right to choose either (A) return the product without undertaking any repair services to the Customer or (B) to scrap the product without further notice to the Customer.

Once repaired, a service warranty will be offered in respect of repair for the remainder of the manufacturer warranty or 6 months, whichever is longer.
