Established in 1971, Memco has its world Headquarters in Maidenhead, UK some 30 miles from London. Rapidly increasing product demand has led to the development of a purpose-built factory in the Czech Republic. This 4000sq m factory already has the capacity to produce 3500 sets of detectors per week.

Additional sales offices in Italy (2004), Japan (1999), Spain (1998), France (1994) and Germany (1993); coupled with a network of distributors across the globe ensure that Memco retains its international dominance. The company successfully achieved the Queen's Award for Exports in 1994.

Memco's aim is to continue to be the leading designer and manufacturer of electronic door entrance safety systems in the world, and a major supplier of lift emergency telephones. The introduction of the latest telephone family, Memcom, moves Memco firmly into the 21st century.

Memco sits with sister companies Janus, TL Jones and E-Motive within the Elevator Safety Division of Halma plc, a FTSE 250 company with an annual turnover of £350 million. In addition to a wide range of safety edges, accessories and emergency telephones for lifts, Memco also supplies lift displays across Europe, Africa and South America.
