MemScan is designed to be mounted above an automatic sliding door and to open the door according to the movements or presence of people within the field of view of the camera(s). The system is designed to ignore passing pedestrians but operate when required, i.e., while approaching and exiting buildings and lobbies.

The use of image processing to activate the doors means there are none of the problems seen with current technology. For example dark colours are difficult to spot with reflective infra-red sensors and may result in doors inadvertently closing onto pedestrians.
