Memco Appoints Paul Simmons as Managing Director

Global elevator safety and communications specialist Memco has appointed Paul Simmons as its new Managing Director. Paul succeeds Peter Bailey who retired in April 2010 after 19 years at Memco.

Prior to joining Memco Paul spent 13 years at 3M, the global consumer and industrial products group. He progressed from Operations Director of a new acquisition to become General Manager of 3M’s largest UK business, Industrial Adhesives and Tapes. While at 3M Paul completed his Black Belt in Six Sigma techniques, leading training and business change projects in the US and Europe over a two year period. Earlier in his career he worked for Interconnection Systems Ltd and Mars Drinks in operations and product development roles.

Paul has a BEng (Hons) degree in Engineering Production from the University of Birmingham.
