Memco Limited, the Maidenhead-based specialist lift safety company, has now sold one million sets of infra-red light curtains. This is by far the largest number supplied by any single manufacturer in the sector.

Italian company Sematic Group was the proud recipient of this milestone set. Run by Roberto, Marco and Paolo Zappa, Sematic uses Memco's detector edges extensively in their business for customers worldwide, including a recent large project in Russia.

Peter Bailey, MD of Memco Ltd, visited the Sematic Italia factory in Bergamo for a special presentation to mark the occasion. Accompanied by Italian Branch Manager Franco Luzzoli, he commented: "I am proud that Memco has had a long-term relationship with one of Italy's biggest manufacturers and exporters of elevator doors." The combination of Memco's leading edge products and excellent local support has meant that Memco and Sematic have been working together for 20 years now.
